‘HARMONY OF THE SPHERES’

The great composers of sacred music painted glorious sound worlds to inspire and uplift us. Here is music which evokes the turning of the heavens or the singing of angels, echoing the philosophy that the whole of the universe makes a wonderful music, if we could hear it. Musical Director Rowen Fox has selected some of his favourite choral works, which he thinks comes closest to capturing that ideal. Be transported by exquisite masterpieces by Saint-Saéns, Schubert, Fauré, Handel, Mendelssohn and more…

Handel's 'MESSIAH'

Sunday 6 December, 3:00pm
Location: The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, High Street, Penrith

‘Messiah’ is Handel’s best known work and has been a fixture on the concert stage ever since its premiere in Dublin in 1742.
 
Co-produced with Penrith Symphony Orchestra, this much-loved work features four exceptional soloists and chorus.
