Our Mission:
  1. to promote amateur choral singing
  2. to provide a community service
  3. to provide training in vocal and choral technique

Penrith City Choir has been in existence since 1977 (formerly Nepean Choral Society). Its name was changed officially in 2005 to Penrith City Choir to better identify it as Penrith’s own community choir.

Since its inception the choir has produced many major concerts locally, performed with other choirs in Sydney, Bathurst and Goulburn, as well as being involved in local community and civil events and carol evenings at Christmas. Performances include a range of choral repertoire both popular and classical, from Bach to the Beatles, and Miller to Mozart. The choir often collaborates with Penrith Symphony Orchestra www.pso.org.au  in performance of full-scale works.

Throughout its long history the choir has sung under the direction of several well-known and accomplished conductors including Graham Abbott, Michael Dyer, Gerald Williams, Helen Quach, Marie Louise Catsalis and Paul Terracini.

Lucy McAlary served as Musical Director and Conductor of the choir from 2005 to mid 2023.

Rowen Fox was appointed Musical Director and Conductor in mid 2023
