Penrith Children’s City Choir (PCCC) is open to all children 7 – 13 years of age. PCCC operates on a project basis with each project consisting of two to three Sunday afternoon workshops ending with a performance. There are no auditions – all you need is a love of singing.

Penrith City Children’s Choir 2023 Projects PROJECT I ‘SINGING DAY’ Sunday 26 February 3.00 – 5.00pm St Finbar’s Church Hall, Levy St, Glenbrook Fees: $25 per child. Family reductions: $40 for two children; $50 for three children. A great introductory ‘taster’ for new singers and a warm ‘welcome back’ for members. Join us for the energetic ‘Freedom Train’ from America, the mysterious ‘Camel Driver’ and the beautiful harmony of the German round ‘Music alone shall live’. Through this wide-ranging and colourful repertoire, we develop vocal technique, musicianship and part-singing skills in an encouraging and joyful learning environment supported by experienced adult and teenage mentors. Friends and family are invited to attend an informal performance at the end of the workshop. PROJECT II NATIVE AMERICAN CHANTS including public performance Two Workshops (Term 1) Sunday 2 April 3.00 – 5.00pm at St Finbar’s (Term 2) Saturday 13 May 3.00 – 5.00pm at Glenbrook Baptist Church Public Performance (Term 2) Sunday 21 May 2.00 – 3.00pm at Glenbrook Baptist Church Fees: $50 per child. Family reductions: $75 for two children; $90 for three children. Penrith Children’s Choir are special guests at Penrith City Choir’s concert ‘All American’. The Children’s Choir will captivate the audience with the haunting beauty of ‘Ancient Mother’ and the rhythmic drive of ‘The Earth is Our Mother’. The adult chorus will sing modern sacred music, folksongs and spirituals and a medley of Frank Sinatra hits. Adults and children combine for an exciting finale. PROJECT III ‘MUSIC AND READINGS FOR CHRISTMAS’ including public performance Three Workshops (Term 3) Sunday 10 September 3.00 – 5.00pm (Term 4) Sunday 12 November 3.00 – 5.00pm (Term 4) Sunday 3 December 3.00 – 5.00pm St Finbar’s Church Hall, Levy St, Glenbrook Public Performance Sunday 10 December, 7.30pm St Finbar’s Church with rehearsal at 4.00pm Fees: $50 per child. Family reductions: $75 for two children; $90 for three children. Cancelled in recent years this wonderful community event will go ahead in 2023. Directed by Robert Ampt, other performers include Penrith Symphony Brass, harp, organ, vocal soloists and a combined adult chorus. A highly anticipated performance which attracts a full house. A must for the whole family. Children’s Choir members are welcome to attend one, two or all three projects depending on their interests and availability.
